Nairoby Otero is an interdisciplinary artist and proud first-generation Cuban-American.

Nairoby is the founder of YOLO! Productions is a production company that aims to enhance the visibility of women on stage, TV, and film. Since its beginning, YOLO! Productions, Nairoby, and her team have received rave reviews and are lauded for serving women in the arts.

Critics, blogs, magazines, and newspapers have praised her work; Broadway World described her as “A Singular Tour de Force.”

Her hometown is New Orleans, and she imbues her work with the commitment and strength she learned growing up there. Much like her native city, Nairoby is playful yet serious, comedic yet dramatic, all with a touch of Louisiana charm.

Creative life is, to me, as natural as the air I breathe. It has become my greatest passion: the one constant I always knew I needed to fulfill and express myself. My artistic, entrepreneurial drive is more than a want. It is a need. It is intangible; it is imperfect, and, often, it creates more headaches and heartaches than most people can stand. But, to me, it’s worth every single second.

Nairoby is an MFA candidate at Brooklyn College, a Shubert Foundation Scholar, a TOW International Research Fellow recipient, and Best of Brooklyn College.
